MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - SISTER ALICE WILEY

In the 1990's I moved to Merced and stayed with my daughter in law Stefanie Wiley who sadly passed away in 2015 at an early age.

I was looking for a church home in the "yellow pages." I attended various Baptist churches and a Pentecostal church. I had my belongings in a storage in Atwater. It laid on my
heart to go to FBC on my lunch from work and I was amazed there was cars in the parking lot during the week and Pastor White was in his office. I didn't have much money in my pocket after paying a deposit and first months rent. The church I was a member of for some years was called "First" Friendship Baptist Church in Selma CA and they also was a friendly church but the Pastor did not have office hours. Only members could access the Pastor during the week. Church doors did not open till Sunday morning.

Pastor White asked me for the key to my storage and the address of my apartment. He then called a team of brothers by name from his office and they hustled over. He told me to return to work and my furniture would be in my apartment and the key to the apartment and storage would be under the mat when I got off work!!.wow!!! I was amazed and soooo thankful. I was also amazed with this church because of the teachings and the congregation being friendly. I joined shortly thereafter and chose the Usher ministry under Sister Warmack and I have been there since and I have no desire to change my membership!! I LOVE MY PASTOR, AND FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH
